(referred to in this Privacy Notice as “CIY,” “Christ In Youth” or “we” and through similar words such as “us,” “our,” etc.), a nonprofit religious organization. This Privacy Policy outlines the personal information that Christ In Youth may collect, how Christ In Youth uses and safeguards that information, and with whom we may share it.
From time to time, we may change this Privacy Policy. If we do, we will post an amended version on this webpage. Please review this Privacy Policy periodically.

1. WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU?
Personal information (also commonly known as “personally identifiable information” (PII) or “personal data”) is information that can be used to identify you or any other individual to whom the information may relate.
Personal Information You Provide
The personal information that we collect directly from those registering for or engaging with the Services, or we may collect from individuals registering minors for the services about the minors attending events, includes the following categories, where such collection is permitted by law:
- Name and contact information (e.g., address, phone number, email, fax).
- Account information (e.g., login credentials, passwords).
- Billing/Financial Information (e.g., credit/debit card, bank account, financial information, billing contact information).
- Health information (e.g. health insurance, allergies, medications).
- Geolocation Data.

- Other information that may be exchanged in the course of engaging with the Services.
Personal Data as You Navigate Our Site[s]
We automatically collect certain personal data through your use of our Site[s] and our use of cookies and other tracking technologies, such as the following:
- Usage Information. For example, the pages on the Site[s] you access, the frequency of access, and what you click on while on the Site[s].
- Device Information. For example, hardware model, operating system, application version number, and browser.
- Mobile Device Information. Aggregated information about whether the Site[s] is/are accessed via a mobile device or tablet, the device type, and the carrier.

2. COLLECTION OF USER GENERATED CONTENT
We may invite you to post content on the Services, including your comments and any other information that you would like to be available on the Services, which may become public (“User Generated Content”). If you post User Generated Content, all of the information that you post will be available to authorized personnel of Christ In Youth and may be made available to the public or other users of the Services at our discretion. You expressly acknowledge and agree that we may access in real-time, record, and store archives of any User Generated Content on our servers to make use of them in connection with the Services. If you submit a review, recommendation, endorsement, or other User Generated Content through the Services, or through other websites including Facebook, Instagram, Google, Yelp, and other similar channels, we may share that review, recommendation, endorsement, or content publicly on the Services.
3. PUBLICITY RELEASE FOR NAME, IMAGE, AND LIKENESS
In addition to User Generated Content, if you or your child attend one of our in-person events, Christ In Youth may, or we may have a third party on our behalf, take photographs, videos, and audio recordings. By registering for an in-person event or any services, hereby consent and agree that Christ In Youth has the right to use my name and image, and/or the name and image of the minor participating in the Christ in Youth event, in (1) any video, audio, digital, electronic, photographic or print format pertaining to participation in the event; and (2) any reproduction either in whole or in part from the video, audio, digital, electronic, photographic or print format pertaining to Christ In Youth’s activities and events for advertising, marketing, promotion, publicity, or any other purpose on behalf of Christ In Youth (“Produced Media).
In addition, I waive all claims to compensation or damages based on the Produced Media, and I hereby grant to Christ In Youth an irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, right to use my and/or the minor participating in the Christ In Youth Event’s name, voice, likeness, and image in all forms and media, and in all manners for any lawful purposes, commercial or noncommercial. I also waive any right to inspect or approve the Produced Media prior to use or publication. Finally, I agree that all Produced Media shall remain the property of Christ In Youth, unless otherwise agreed to separately from this Release Form
4. WHAT ARE THE SOURCES OF PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTED BY US?
When providing personal information to Christ In Youth as described in this Privacy Policy, that personal information is often collected directly from you, and you will know the precise personal information being collected by us.
In certain circumstances, third parties may collect information on behalf of Christ In Youth, though such collection will always be within the context of the Services. Specifically, personal information may be collected:
- Indirectly from your church or other religious organization offering the opportunity to attend a CIY event (e.g., after registration on the Services, through information we collect from you in the course of providing services).
- Directly and indirectly from activity on our Services (e.g., submissions through our website portal or website usage details collected automatically).
- From your use of social media or other websites linked to the Services (e.g., X.com button and social widgets, Facebook Like button, and social widgets for Instagram and LinkedIn).
- From third parties that interact with us in connection with the Services. (e.g., partner groups, churches, or event hosting locations).
5. HOW DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
Subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy, Christ In Youth uses the above-described categories of personal information in several ways. Unless otherwise stated specifically, the above information may be used for any of the following purposes:
- Administering the Services to you.
- Creating and managing your account or other user profiles.
- Responding to your requests.
- Fulfilling the specific purpose for which specific information was provided.
- Providing information to you about the Services or products.
- Notifying you about changes to this Privacy Policy or our Terms of Use.
- Distributing communications relevant to your use of the Services, such as system updates, information about your use of the Services, email alerts, event registrations, and other notices concerning our products or services, or events or news, which may be of interest to you.

- Sending you Christ In Youth solicitations, product announcements, and the like that we feel may be of interest to you (you may “opt out” of receiving these marketing materials).

- Access to third-party services’ accounts, such as access to Facebook or Google account(s) through widgets, badges, or other links available on the Services.
- Protecting the rights of Christ In Youth, our clients, or others, and responding to law enforcement or other legal requests.

6. HOW DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
We may provide any of the described categories of personal information to Christ In Youth employees, consultants, affiliates, or other businesses or persons for the purpose of processing such information on our behalf in order to provide the Services to you. In such circumstances, we require that these parties agree to protect the confidentiality of such information consistent with the terms of this Privacy Policy. Third parties receiving personal information may include:
- Our affiliates and related companies.
- Third-party vendors or service providers providing crucial services and necessary to provide the Services to you or to which you ask us to provide your personal information (e.g., emailing on behalf of Christ In Youth, database management services, database hosting, customer support, event support, location hosts).

- Certain third-party applications, websites, and services may be integrated with our Services. As such, those integrated third-party service providers may receive your personal information (e.g., social media platforms as described above through widgets, badges, or other links).

How We Use Cookies

Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. Google Analytics uses Cookies to help us analyze how users interact with the Services, compile reports on their activity, and provide other services related to their activity and usage. The technologies used by Google may collect information such as your IP address, time of visit, whether you are a returning visitor, and any referring website. The information generated by Google Analytics will be transmitted to and stored by Google and will be subject to Google’s privacy policies. Hotjar
We use Hotjar to better understand our users’ needs and to optimize the service and experience. Hotjar is a technology service that helps us better understand our users’ experience (e.g., how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, what users do and do not like, etc.) and this enables us to build and maintain our service with user feedback. Hotjar uses Cookies to collect data on our users’ behavior and their devices. This includes a device’s IP address (processed during your session and stored in a de-identified form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), and the preferred language used to display our Site[s]. Hotjar stores this information on our behalf in a pseudonymized user profile. Hotjar is contractually forbidden to sell any of the data collected on our behalf. 8. HOW LONG DO WE RETAIN YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
Christ In Youth will retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy consistent with our internal policies and procedures. We will retain and use personal information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
To determine the appropriate retention period for your personal information, we will consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal information, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal information, the purposes for which we use your personal information and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.
Christ In Youth will also retain usage data for internal analysis purposes. Usage data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of the Services, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer periods.

10. STATE PRIVACY RIGHTS AND ADDITIONAL DISCLOSURES
While Christ In Youth is not subject to state data protection laws that provide for individual rights, we would like to inform you of the following state privacy rights that may be generally available to you depending on the state in which you reside. While Christ In Youth is not legally obligated to fulfill the following data privacy rights, we respect your personal information, and you may contact us with any particular request regarding your personal information. Rights generally available to certain state residents may include (if applicable):
- The right to confirm whether or not we are processing your personal data and to access such personal data and the categories of personal data we are processing or have processed;
- The right to obtain a copy of your personal data that we collected from and/or about you in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, readily usable format that allows you to transmit the information to another controller without hindrance, where the processing is carried out by automated means;
- The right, at our option, to obtain a list of specific third parties, other than natural persons, to which we have disclosed your personal data or any personal data;

For individuals located outside the US, in particular in Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area (EEA), please note that Christ In Youth is based in the US. Christ In Youth does not market to or solicit customers from outside the US via this website, therefore, users of this website should not expect to avail themselves of the rights provided under the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). If you use the Service, all information, including personal information, will be transferred to Christ In Youth in the US. By using the Service, you unambiguously consent to the transfer of your personal information and other information to the US and elsewhere for the purposes and uses described in this Privacy Notice. Further, you acknowledge that this website and the Christ In Youth US-based Services are not subject to the GDPR or similar international privacy laws, and, therefore, you will be unable to claim the privacy rights provided in those laws. 13. "DO NOT TRACK" SIGNALS
Some internet browsers incorporate a “Do Not Track” feature that signals to websites you visit that you do not want to have your online activity tracked. Given that there is not a uniform way that browsers communicate the “Do Not Track” signal, the Site does not currently interpret, respond to, or alter its practices when it receives “Do Not Track” signals.
14. THIRD-PARTY ADVERTISERS
We may allow other companies, called third-party ad servers or ad networks, to serve advertisements within the Services. These third-party ad servers or ad networks use technology to send, directly to your device, the advertisements, and links that appear on the Services. They automatically receive your device ID and IP address when this happens. They may also use other technologies (such as cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons) to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements and to personalize the advertising content you see. We employ industry-standard security measures designed to protect the security of all information submitted through the Services. However, the security of information transmitted through the internet or via a mobile device can never be guaranteed. We are not responsible for any interception or interruption of any communications through the internet or for changes or unauthorized access to or losses or unauthorized use of data.
Users of the Services are responsible for maintaining the security of any password, user ID, or other form of authentication involved in obtaining access to password protected or secure areas of the Services. In order to protect you and your information, we may suspend your use of any of the Services, without notice, pending an investigation, if any breach of security is suspected.

The Services may contain links to other websites maintained by third parties. Please be aware that we exercise no control over linked sites and Christ In Youth is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such sites. Each linked site maintains its own independent privacy and data collection policies and procedures, and you are encouraged to view the privacy policies of these other sites before providing any personal information.
You hereby acknowledge and agree that Christ In Youth is not responsible for the privacy practices, data collection policies and procedures, or the content of such third-party sites, and you hereby release Christ In Youth from any and all claims arising out of or related to the privacy practices, data collection policies and procedures, and/or the content of such third-party sites.
17. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
At this time, the Service is not intended for children under the age of 13, and Christ In Youth does not knowingly collect the personal information directly from children under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, you are not permitted to sign up for an event or register for an account and may only access and use the Services via a Parent or Guardian (“Guardian”). As such, Christ In Youth does not receive information directly from children, and we rely solely on Guardians to provide personal information about individuals under the age of 13.
