JOIN OUR SUMMER EVENT STAFF

This isn’t your typical seasonal job. CIY Summer Event Staff is an experience that includes traveling the country, serving the local church, and watching thousands of students meet Jesus for the first time. We’re looking for people who want to use their gifts and abilities to be part of something bigger than just a summer job. We’re looking for Kingdom Workers who want to serve the Church and, along the way, create lasting memories and friendships during the experience of a lifetime.

Before we send our Summer Event Staff on the road, we spend two weeks getting to know them, introducing them to CIY culture, and training each of them in their specific roles.

Training begins at the end of May at the CIY headquarters in Joplin, MO. During training weeks, Event Staff will be housed next door at Ozark Christian College in gender-specific dorms. They will be provided transportation to and from the office each day for training sessions.

In the off-hours of training, Event Staff are invited to be part of fun Training Week activities such as cereal bar, wiffle ball, Pork N Pickle, and evening worship. These serve as opportunities for teams to connect with each other before heading out on the road for the summer.

For both summer programs (MOVE & MIX), teams work very similarly. Once all Event Staff are hired, they are assigned to a TEAM led by a returning Event Staff known as a Team Lead. Once teams are assigned, that group of staff will travel together all summer.

The Team Lead will hold one of the roles on the team and will also be responsible for managing the team’s travel plans and schedule. They will also act as a resource for first-time staff members.

MOVE teams are made up of 6 people filling the roles of Emcee, Recreation Manager, Stage Manager, Hospitality Specialist, Housing Coordinator, and Store Manager. Each of the 7 MOVE teams will be provided with a van to transport them to and from each event.

MIX teams are made up of 11 people filling the roles of Vocalist (2), Electric Guitarist, Drummer, Bassist, Stage Manager, Outer Realm Manager, Recreation Manager, Hospitality Specialist, Housing Coordinator, and Store Manager. Each of the 5 teams will be provided with two vans and an equipment trailer to transport them to and from each event.

Each team will also be assigned a TOUR. Tours typically consist of anywhere between 6-9 events that teams will travel to over the course of 11 weeks. In between events, teams will return to the CIY headquarters where they will have an office week doing “light work” for a few hours and then are given an opportunity to rest, decompress, explore, etc.

QUESTIONS?

ANSWERS.

Does CIY pay for me to get to and from Joplin, MO for training weeks?

No. Applicants are responsible for their own transportation to and from Joplin, MO for training weeks. We will arrange pickup and drop-off at several airports in the region if an applicant chooses to fly instead of driving to training.
