Calling. That’s a word you’re hearing a lot right now. Maybe you sensed a call to step into a volunteer role. Maybe you sensed a call to step into a full-time ministry-as-a-career kind of thing.
Or maybe you’re just here because someone told you that you should be.
Regardless, we believe you’re meant to be here.
1 Corinthians 7:17 says “…let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him”.
This means your time is not best spent trying to decipher if you have been called. You have! We all have! What’s more important is discovering what you’ve been called to.
That is what we hope to unpack together.
American author and theologian Frederick Buechner once said,
“The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.”
In other words, a calling is the place where our interests, passions, and abilities intersect with God’s heart.
So, your calling may lead you towards a full-time ministry-as-a-career kind of path. Or your calling may lead you on towards a teaching-algebra-to-a-bunch-of-unruly-8th-graders kind of path.
Neither path is better or worse. Neither path is more important. Both paths are the paths of Kingdom Workers.
But the reality is, each call is unique. And each call needs distinct training.
God’s unique design for you gives you a unique role in His Kingdom.
Be encouraged. You have many faith leaders praying for you as you continue to discover what that unique role may be.
