The Location

San Jose

For nearly three decades, Engage has partnered with IberoAmerican Ministries (IAM) and their network of Ecuadorian churches who are passionate about multiplying healthy, gospel-centered communities. On this trip your students will come alongside one of those churches in the small coastal town of San Jose. IAM has been faithfully investing in this community through local leaders, and your team will get the chance to encourage them, serve alongside them, and experience how the global Church lives out Kingdom Work.

During your time in San Jose, your group will help with children’s ministry, run soccer outreach on the beach, and teach Bible lessons that remind kids of God’s deep love for them. You’ll also have opportunities to build relationships with families in the community, support IAM’s program for vulnerable children, and even tackle some work projects if needed to help the church keep moving forward. It’s a chance for your students to stretch their faith, practice serving together, and return home with a bigger picture of how God is already at work in Ecuador.

IberoAmerican Ministries (IAM)
Motto:

Planting. Serving. Sending.

Focus:

School & Children’s Program / Church Planting

IAM is a church planting and compassion-based organization working to see peoples, communities and nations transformed by Christ, through the global movements of Kingdom disciples. Working in South America, West Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, IAM’s goal is to see disciples of Christ rise up and continue extending His kingdom to other parts of the world. Since 1992 IAM has worked using dynamic discipleship techniques and a variety of compassion and education projects to see this goal come alive. In Ecuador specifically, IAM has served to raise up national leaders who now work with 6 church plants, elementary schools, children’s feeding programs and tutoring programs in low-income communities.
