WHO SHOULD ATTEND MIX?

MIX is intended for students going into sixth grade through eighth grade. Youth workers are also invited and encouraged to attend. The more the better.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE COST?

The price that you pay to CIY MIX covers all meals from dinner on Day 1 through dinner Day 4 (except Skip-A-Meal if MIX is on a college campus), housing, as well as all of the programming provided for General Sessions and small group curriculum.

HOW DO I REGISTER?

MIX registration is now available online. Go to the event you are interested in attending and register from that page as long as there is space available. When registering, you can either pay the deposits by using a credit card or you have the option of mailing a check. If you choose to mail a check, it must be received within 7 days of when you registered online. If there is no space available for the event you would like to attend, you will be put on the waiting list.

CAN I REGISTER A STUDENT ONE WEEK BEFORE THE EVENT?

Yes, you can register a student the day before the event as long as there is space available. Those registered less than 21 days prior to an event must pay a late fee of $25 per person, plus the regular registration price.

WHEN IS THE DEADLINE TO PAY MY FINAL BALANCE?

Full payment for all attendees registered with each group is due 21 days prior to the event they will attend. Groups with an outstanding balance once the 21-day deadline passes will be charged a 5% late fee on the balance. This late fee does not apply to additions made less than 21 days before the event at the Late Price – however late additions must be paid in full when added.

DOES MIX HAVE A WAITING LIST?

Yes. Persons wishing to register for a full MIX event should complete the online registration process and will be put on the waiting list. A deposit of $65/person ($130/person if after March 1st) is required to hold space on the waiting list. If the group or person on the waiting list does not get into an event, the deposit(s) will be refunded. When space becomes available groups or additions on the waiting list will be contacted.

For more information, please read the Registration Policy.

WHAT IS YOUR REQUIRED STUDENT TO LEADER RATIO?

We require one adult for every eight students as part of an agreement with each venue. In addition, groups must have at least 1 male and 1 female adult if they are bringing both male and female students to the event.

WHAT PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL DO YOU PROVIDE?

CIY provides leaders with several different options for MIX promotional material including posters, slides, and videos which you can find on the Promotional Downloads page.

AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR FEEDING MY STUDENTS ON “EXTENDED REC DAY” FOR “SKIP-A-MEAL?”

Yes. On extended rec day, the money that is saved from skipping just one meal helps fund MIX International. It enables students from all over the world to attend CIY events and train youth workers to amplify Christ’s call on student lives. Skip-A-Meal is at lunch on Day 4 for MIX events on a college campus. Extended recreation is a time where you and your youth group can enjoy the city in which MIX is located. We want to promote community on campus, along with giving your group ample freedom to enjoy the great opportunities surrounding the city. So go have some fun!

WHAT IF INCLEMENT WEATHER IS FORECAST TO IMPACT MIX?

In the rare instance that inclement weather is forecast to impact an event, the following will apply:

No refunds will be issued for groups that do not attend an event that is held on the scheduled dates in the scheduled location.

Christ In Youth will make every effort to hold all events as scheduled and will communicate with registered groups if there are changes to the schedule. Group leaders along with church leadership are responsible for making appropriate determinations about the safety of traveling to an event location.

Unless required by government agencies or venue closure, Christ In Youth will not terminate an event once it begins. If an event must be terminated because of government action or venue closure, CIY will not refund registration fees for the event.

If prior to beginning, an event is canceled or rescheduled, registered groups will be given the option to attend a rescheduled date, transfer to another location on the same tour or receive a refund of their registration fees. CIY is not responsible for any expenses the church may incur outside of registration costs paid to CIY.

DOES CIY MIX PROVIDE FIRST AID AT THE EVENT?

Christ In Youth does not provide first aid supplies or on-site medical professionals at events. Leaders will be provided with the location of the nearest medical facility for their event location. In the event of an emergency, CIY staff will assist the adult leaders from the group with communication in seeking medical attention. However, it is the responsibility of the adult in charge of the group to ensure that the affected individual(s) receive appropriate care, are accompanied while away from the event, and appropriate payment arrangements are made. Leaders from the group should have access to medical release forms for everyone on the trip at all times.

IF I PAY IN FULL, THEN ONE OF MY STUDENTS DROPS OUT, DO I GET A REFUND?

Deposit 1 is not refundable under any circumstances.

A second deposit of $65/person is due March 1. This deposit is only refundable (or transferrable to the balance, another event/program/group) if the event is canceled (referred to as Deposit 2).

Groups that must cancel all or part of their registration after March 1st, but at least 21 days prior to the start of the MIX event will forfeit the total deposit of each individual registration canceled ($130/person). This means the deposit(s) will not be refunded, applied to the group balance, or transferred to another group or event.

Groups that must cancel all or part of their registration less than 21 days prior to the start of the MIX event will receive no refund for space canceled. Funds cannot be applied to the remaining group balance or transferred to another group or event. Balances due will remain payable including applicable late fees.

No refunds will be given for registered spots canceled less than 21 days prior to the start of the event.

ARE THE DEPOSITS REFUNDABLE IF ONE OF MY STUDENTS DROPS OUT?

Deposit 1 is not refundable under any circumstances.

A second deposit of $65/person is due March 1. This deposit is only refundable (or transferrable to the balance, another event/program/group) if the event is canceled (referred to as Deposit 2).
