CIY’s Kingdom Worker Crash is an opportunity for high school students to share how God has placed a desire on their heart and use them to make a difference in their communities.

Here is Ryan Kelley's story.

Ryan Kelley’s heart broke after a tornado devastated the community of Joplin, Missouri in May 2011. He said he sympathized with the town since it was similar to his hometown of Reidsville, North Carolina. It wasn’t long after the tornado when Ryan was on a CIY Engage trip in Cincinnati, and could feel God tugging on his heart to help the citizens of Joplin. Ryan attended CIY MOVE the following year, and received his Kingdom worker challenge – there was no question where he wanted to serve. Ryan was overwhelmingly supported by his church family – and after two years of planning and a 16-hour road trip – a group of 31 people ministered and served the people of Joplin. Ryan said the experience brought him closer to his youth group, and served as a reminder that anything is possible with God.
