A prayer for volunteers who love foster kids —

Lord in Heaven,

We thank you for showing us amazing ways to love those around us. In this moment, we focus our prayers on those in the U.S. foster care system. We also want to lift up those who love and support them. CASA volunteers are court appointed special advocates who spend time with kids in the foster system and speak on their behalf.

As Jesus advocates for each and every one of us, let us serve and encourage these advocates.

We ask you to give them strength. Please empower the volunteers to face the trauma kids suffer in this world and allow them to be a stronghold in their lives. The love of Jesus is a mighty fortress where anyone may take refuge – let volunteers run to you when they feel weak.

We ask you to give them trust. When decisions must be made for a child, please wrap your arms around the volunteers who speak into those decisions. Give them the kind of trust that only you can provide in your divine plan. In the face of uncertainty and doubt, remind us how to place our trust in you.

We ask you to give them wisdom. Please show volunteers what they need to see, feel and know. Grant them wisdom in each child’s life so that they will do and say what is pleasing to you. When they feel lost, remind them to come to you – to your Holy Word – and when they seek you that you will show them the way.

We pray these things in Jesus’ name,
