This resource is meant to help you discern how God is moving in your life, encourage you to pursue this journey, and prompt you to learn about and grow in your gifts.

We pray this guide will give you the space to explore what God is asking of you, and how you can use your gifts for His Kingdom Work.

Finding a mentor may take a little while. Set a reminder to make sure this challenge is completed one week from now. (If it isn’t, give yourself another week, and set another reminder!)

In the meantime, use your journal to write about the experiences that have brought you to this moment.

Write down as many details as you can. Trust us, you’ll want to remember them later. Answer these questions:

What did I hear, see, feel, and/or pray that has led me to believe God is calling me to explore ministry as a job?

Where was I? What songs did we sing? Who was with me?

What specific things have people said about me that might confirm this calling?

Now, it’s time to meet with your mentor! Use the questions below as a guide to process your experience so far, and then you can move on to part two. 

What are you feeling? Excitement, apprehension, joy, confusion, curiosity? Can you describe where those feelings are coming from?

Did you agree with Ben’s message that you’re called to be a servant, not a celebrity? What does that mean to you?

Name three church leaders who are walking this out in front of you. (If you don’t have three, work together to find them.) 

As you start this journey, what do you need to “leave behind” in order to explore what God is inviting you into? 

Be sure to jot down anything that stood out from your conversation in your journal.
